"Making a Difference" Throughout the World
Butch and Phyllis Bradley have just returned from volunteer work in South Africa. Recently, they sat down with Boomer-Living to describe their rewarding experience.
Butch said a typical day started at 6:00 a.m. with breakfast. Then it was off to an official’s office where they introduced themselves and explained their part of the mission. Butch continued “We took a half hour for lunch. We carried our own lunch - either sandwiches or crackers. We broke down at about 4:00 p.m. Phyllis and I would take the children away from the church because there were so many of them. We would jump rope, sing with them, and play games and pass out candy. This enabled the rest of the team to pack supplies and load the bus.”
